Douni A5 Wireless Speaker Review

It has been quite a while time since I last made a post in this blog. The last post I made was way back in 2015 which is a long time. Anyway, I’m back to making regular posts in this blog and to start the ball rolling I’m going to give a review of the Douni A5 wireless speaker which was recently sent to me. As we all know, summer is already here and one of the best accessories to have this season is a wireless speaker so you can enjoy your music while outdoors.

Pros

  • Long battery life
  • Great build quality
  • Easy to pair
  • Amazing sound
Cons
  • A little bit on the heavy side
  • Not waterproof

Choosing the right wireless speaker for you can sometimes be difficult what with all the models available in the market. If you are looking for a high quality wireless speaker that does not cost a lot then I would recommend the Douni A5 wireless speaker. Before going to its features let’s first take a look at the specifications of this device.

Technical Specs

  • Dual 12.5W drivers deliver a clear sound. The dual passive radiators ensure a rich bass experience.
  • Up to 12 hours of playtime thanks to its 6600mAh battery.
  • Easy to connect over Bluetooth 4.0 on any Android or iOS device
  • NFC allows the tapping of your phone for a smooth connection process
  • Can connect to your TV or PC using the Aux In 3.5mm port
  • Built In microphone for handsfree calling
  • Can be used to charge your smartphone

First Impressions
I have a JBL Flip 3 which I constantly use so this is the standard that I compared the Douni A5 to.
Honestly, I am quite impressed with the A5. Pairing this wireless speaker to my iPhone is quick and easy. The sound quality is also quite good and in fact is even better than my Flip 3. It sounds louder and even with the volume set to its maximum level you won’t hear any distortion from the speaker. This might be due in part to the DSP chip that the speaker uses. If you own an iPhone then you will be pleased to know that you will be able to use Siri with this wireless speaker.

Up Close And Personal
The Douni A5 has several buttons on top of it which allows you to control your music. There are 8 buttons on top namely the power key, Bluetooth On/Off key, Call button, Previous Track, Play/Pause, Next Track, Volume Up, and Volume down. There’s also a small hole on the upper right side of the device which I assume is the microphone.

The bottom of the speaker is made of a rubbery material which is great in providing the grip so it won’t easily slide. You will notice two metal contacts at the bottom which is used to charge the device if you have the charging cradle ( sold separately).

At the back of the speaker you will find the Aux In and Aux Out port. There’s also a USB port which allows you to charge your phone or tablet. The power port is also located at the back and finally we have the reset button.

In terms of build quality I can say that this is a pretty solid device. It doesn’t have any waterproofing feature though so make sure that you don’t get it wet. The speaker grills are made of a rubbery plastic material which covers the whole body. The top and bottom parts are made of hard plastic. It’s very solid to hold and if you squeeze it there are no squeaks that can be heard. It also has some weight to it which stands at 3.4 pounds.

Should You Get It?
If you are looking for a wireless speaker that can provide a high quality sound, has a great build quality, and does not cost much then you should consider getting the Douni A5. Several customers who have already purchased this over at Amazon have left great reviews on this device.

If you get this wireless speaker from the official company website the listed price is $199 however if you head out over to Amazon using the link listed below then you can get it for only $69.99 which is more than 50% off it listed price.
